Project Overview:
National Public School (NPS), Whitefield started its operations in 2019-20 academic year opening doors to 1200 students.
Spread across over 4 acres campus with state-of-the art infrastructure, the school has spacious classrooms equipped with modern interactive screens & AV facilities, well equipped laboratories, well stocked library and a multi purpose playground .
The school wanted to rethink the traditional classroom design and create a flexible learning space which encourages collaboration and creates a conducive atmosphere for learning. Convinced by Dovetail’s expertise and experience in executing school furniture projects, the NPS management turned to Dovetail Furniture to furnish their new school.
Dovetail’s Solution:
Dovetail closely worked with the School’s management Team to understand their requirements and know their exceptions about look and feel of the end-product (furniture). Having worked with varied schools and institutions in size and concept in the last 3 decades, we easily understood NPS’s requirements and offered services in the following areas to design and create a Flexible Learning Space.
* Product Selection
* Design Development
* Color Scheme Development
* Manufacturing & Onsite installation
Product Selection & Design Development : Classrooms were designed with a combination collaborative and traditional teaching methodologies. The classroom desks were custom designed and personalized to suit different age groups. Major product categories used in the project includes –
* Modular Desks
* Multi-Functional seating
* Classroom Storage
* Pin-up Boards
* Teacher’s Desks & other seating and storage solutions
Colour Scheme Development : Colours play a vital role in classroom design. After selecting the perfect seating & storage solutions for the classroom, the next big task is to select the colour combination for the furniture. The right selection of color scheme will not only give a cohesive and organised look, but also affects emotional and mental health of children as brain interprets and reacts to what it tastes, smells, sees, hears and touches.
Hence, after a careful thought and consideration along with the school’s in house architects and interior designers, we decided to go with Grey, Green and Wood Grain as the furniture color scheme.
The Result:
Classroom Furniture
Classroom Storage System
